Our Work.

What We Do

We are a group of community based organizations advancing the rights of Abuja Original Inhabitants

A Cohort Approach to
Empowering Communities &
Sustaining Livelihoods

The Project of Promoting the Rights of Original Inhabitants of the FCT was designed to help push for governments and governance systems to become truly responsive to the age-long demands of the people. The project which kicked off in September 2021 will run for 2 years. With funding support from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Resource Centre for Human Rights & Civic Education (CHRICED) is implementing the project.

To provide basic human rights to all communities, we must empower the original inhabitants to take greater control over their lives and become agents of change for their communities. This project will work with indigenous communities to strengthen policies that promote their culture, preserve their land and build stronger relationships between the community and State through increased consultation.

To strengthen FCT Original Inhabitants Community Voices in Key Governance Processes.
